What is Hatha Yoga?

Hatha Yoga is a practice of purification of both body and mind.

This traditional two hour yoga asana class is how yogis practiced forseveral thousand years, until the pace of the modern world created movement from what was a practice based on stillness.

Each pose is held for an extended period of time with a deep emphasis on the breath. 
This naturally forces both the body and the mind to move toward an internal focus. 
This internal focus naturally creates a sense of calm and peace.
This is the first benefit of asana (posture) practice.

The class will alternate each pose with a rest in Savasana (the corpse pose), asa way to recover from the intensity of holding the previous posture.

After an hour and a half of poses, the class will shift to 10 to 15 minutes of pranayama (breath control practice), and then conclude with a fifteen minute meditation (dhyana).

* From beginners to practitioners are welcome.
*Please wear loose comfortable clothing.
*Please do not eat before 2 hour class.
