We hope this email finds you at peace. 
In 2019, we hosted 3 Day Retreat in Roxbury, NY at Downstream Retreat Center. 
Now, there will be the 2nd opportunity to spend a sacred peaceful time
in beautiful nature surrounded by mountains and stars in 2026. 
Since some people expressed their wish to extend the Retreat day, 
we decided to host 7 DAY RETREAT in 2026!

The Retreat will occur when there are 10 people signing up.

while one of us leading classes for the first a few days.

Ananda Ashvattha, will host
7 Day Self-Realization Retreat (Sauna / Hot spring / Yoga, plus more), in her
hometown, Iwamizawa City, Hokkaido, Japan. (1hour drive from the airport in Sapporo).

There is a mountain forest only a 4 minute walk from my family home, and another nearby forest
with a beautiful healing hot spring and sauna. Onsens, medicinal baths, are everywhere, and
we will visit a hot spring or sauna every night. 
Additionally, since the Japanese Yen is now at a historically low price, this is a great opportunity to
travel to Japan relatively inexpensively.

Hokkaido is known for its “Big Sky” and the ability to see the horizon for 360 degrees. 
And, besides also being known for delicious food, there are countless beautiful places in Hokkaido.
The maximum number of people we can accept for this retreat is 8 in total.
The minimum number of people is 5 people.

> How can I get to the Sapporo Airport?
You will need to take a domestic flight from either of these 3 locations to Hokkaido.

1. NRT(Narita International Airport) in TOKYO
2. HND(Haneda International Airport) in TOKYO
3. KIX(Osaka International Airport) in OSAKA (Near Kyoto)

It’s about a 90 minute flight from these international airports to Sapporo City.

<Suggestion of the Domestic Transition>
If you are traveling from the different time zone,
To adjust your body time in Japan, I suggest you to stay at a hotel in Tokyo, or Osaka for 3-5 days before the Retreat week.
I can introduce you a cheap wonderful hotel that includes amazing Saunas/Hot Spring/Free Shuttle Bus 10mins from the NRT airport in Tokyo. 

If you would like to go sightseeing in Asakusa, TOKYO, please let me know,
and I will introduce to you the cheapest clean hotels near Asakusa.

   with a Wonderful Buddhist Chief Priest at a Japanese Buddhist Temple

   (Optional) Since Hokkaido food (fish etc) is famous as the highest quality in Japan, 
if you would like to experience beyond what we can serve, 
Please have it on your own before or after the Retreat.

(FISH – Optional) If you would like to eat fish for  medicinal purposes (omega3, Vitamins), 
we will be able to provide  a Sashimi plate prepared by my brother in-law who 
happens to be a professional Japanese chef. (Additional price)

(EXTENDED STAY – Optional) If you would like to extend your stay and
experience other beautiful and fun places 

in Iwamizawa City, please let me know, as we can provide an additional 5-7 day homestay plan for you.
If that occurs, Ashvattha will be your chef for the organic meals, and we can bring you
to a NICHIBU (Japanese traditional dance workshop). (Additional price)

 (ZEN FISH WORKSHOP – Optional) If you would like to experience a Zen Fish Workshop
led by Ashvattha and Masashi, a professional Japanese chef.
We will have a Wild Sashimi Workshop during the extended stay,
so please let me know. (Additional price)

< About Meal >

* Unfortunately, in this age, it can be difficult to buy organic food in Japan.
  We will try our best to have as many organic ingredients as we can acquire, and food that is clean
  and brings joy with gratitude. 
* There will be 2 meals a day (around 11am-1pm and dinner + some light food or fruits will be
  available if needed). 
* Depending on the schedule, sometimes, we may go to the Indian Curry restaurant or a Japanese Restaurant.
(Non-organic)
* Basically, we will practice 14-18 hour intermittent fasting for healing the body and mind 
  as fasting is one of the most powerful healers we can utilize.
  ( I suggest that you practice 18 hour intermittent fasting even now for less frequent eating).
  If your body cannot handle an intermittent fasting practice, please feel free to let me know. 
  If that’s the case, you can have food on your own, or we will provide a light
  breakfast (there may be an additional cost).  
* We will NOT provide alcohol. 
* Non-prescription Drugs or smoking is NOT allowed.

< About Intermittent fasting’s benefit > ————————————————————————-
In this age, people tend to eat too much and too often.
Fasting is not necessarily about less food, or exactly what you eat, 
It is about trying to  eat less frequently to avoid insulin resistance 
which creates a myriad of symptoms. Frequently eating commonly
has a negative impact on the body and mind.

* For those who truly need caffeine during the 7 days of retreat, please let me know what you 
think you’ll need.  
If you need caffeine, we will provide coco tea (Coco powder and raw honey) or green tea
which has less caffeine than coffee. If you truly need coffee, please let me know. 

At the same time, I suggest you practice a caffeine free diet as soon as you are ready to practice it.
